The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was signed into law by President Obama on July 22, 2014. The goals of WIOA are to improve the quality of the workforce, reduce welfare dependency, increase economic self-sufficiency, meet the skill requirements of employers, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the Nation.
Individuals interested in receiving employment and training services through WIOA should contact their local Job Center to determine eligibility for the program.
