Kenosha County’s Brookside Care Center will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 28.
This is an opportunity for the public to tour the award-winning skilled nursing facility, and it comes as Brookside is accepting applications for long-term residency, said Administrator Lynda Bogdala.
“Recently, increased staffing levels allowed us to open additional beds for long-term care, including Medicaid, and we currently still have some availability,” Bogdala said. “We encourage people to stop in and see firsthand the high-quality care and homelike environment that we have to offer.”
Located at 3506 Washington Road, Brookside is a 154-bed facility that offers long-term skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation care. In recent years, national publications have honored it as being among the best nursing homes in Wisconsin.
Recently, Bogdala noted, Brookside received a deficiency-free review from the state agency that regulates nursing homes. This review of health and life safety compliance covered a 15-month period that began in April 2022.
“We are extremely proud of this accomplishment, and of our dedicated, compassionate staff members who made it possible,” Bogdala said. “We are excited that we are now able to extend this high standard of care to additional families.”
Among other factors that set Brookside apart from other nursing homes, Bogdala said, are:
- Private rooms for all residents, some of which also include private bathrooms.
- Higher staff-to-resident ratios.
- A homelike environment, with all rooms renovated within the last five years.
- Exceptional, café-style dining with multiple entrée options for every meal.
“Brookside is a nursing home that Kenosha County can be very proud of, and it is the choice destination for compassionate long-term care,” said Robert W. Pitts, chairman of the Brookside Board of Trustees. “I’m pleased that the community has a chance to come in and see it.”
County Board Chairman Gabe Nudo, also a member of the Board of Trustees, said he also encourages the public to take a look at Brookside.
“Kenosha County residents are fortunate to have this high-quality facility in the community,” Nudo said. This open house will give everyone a chance to see it in action.”
