[ARCHIVED] Brighton Dale Links now closed for the season; golf and holiday sale continue at Petrifying Springs

One of Kenosha County’s two golf facilities has closed for the season, while the other will remain open until further notice, weather dependent.

Brighton Dale Links closed Tuesday, ahead of schedule due to cold and wet course conditions, said Daniel Drier, the county’s general manager of golf operations. Petrifying Springs Golf Course will remain open on days the forecast temperature is above 40 degrees, Drier said.

A season closing date for Petrifying Springs will be announced at a future date, Drier said.

Regardless of whether the weather allows golf at Petrifying Springs, Drier encourages people to check out a holiday sale in the clubhouse, which will begin Friday and continue through Dec. 23.

Hours for the sale are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, in addition to the hours that the golf course will be open. All merchandise from both facilities’ clubhouses will be on sale at Petrifying Springs, and gift cards for next season will be available for purchase.

A new golf simulator, powered by Flight Scope, will also debut at Petrifying Springs next Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The golf season winds to a close as Kenosha County’s courses received top honors in the Kenosha News’ 2019 Best of Kenosha County awards, which were announced Sunday. Petrifying Springs was voted first place in the Golf Course category, while Brighton Dale Links came in third.

“We’re honored to again be voted among the area’s best golf courses,” Drier said. “Thank you to all of the golfers who have come out and played our courses this year. We can’t wait to begin another great season in 2020!”

The county courses typically open for the season in March, weather permitting.
