[ARCHIVED] UPDATED: Threats made at Wilmot High School

On 12-04-17, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department took a ‘threats’ situation at Wilmot Union High School located at 11112 308th Ave.

The School Resource Officer assigned to the school, became of aware of written threatening verbiage written on a male bathroom stall. The words “shoot up the school” were observed.

A vigorous investigation is taking place over this incident. The Kenosha Sheriff’s Department is working closely with the school Administration.

It is believed this message was written sometime over the past weekend, perhaps during a basketball game.

Wilmot High School and the Sheriff’s Department would like to stress that at this time this incident is not being viewed as a credible threat. The investigation is moving quickly. Wilmot High School is being vigilant, but not taking any extra security measures.

The school will remain in session.


12-07-17 UPDATE: The investigation by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department had identified the subject who wrote the threatening message on the bathroom wall. This original incident was reported 12-04-17.

The KSD Deputy assigned as the Wilmot School Resource Officer viewed hundreds of hours of school video before questioning a 16-year-old male student who confessed to the crime.

This investigation was a cooperative and thorough effort of the School Resource Officer and School Officials.

The case on the juvenile suspect is being referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office and Kenosha County Juvenile Intake for review.
