Video Visitation Rules and Guidelines


All visits, on or off-site, must be scheduled in advance. Visitors must check in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit.

Parties wishing to visit inmates/detainees at either Facility will need to register to be a visitor and then schedule the visit on the GTL Website.

Register and Schedule an On-Site Visit

To register and schedule an on-site visit, go to the GTL Website. Visitors can also register and schedule their visit at a kiosk located in the lobbies of both facilities. Inmates/detainees are eligible for one free on-site visit per week.

Once a visitor has registered a visit can be scheduled. Visits must be scheduled one day in advance but no longer than seven days.

Visit from Home or Android Device

Visitors can conduct a video visit with an inmate/detainee from their home or Android device. To visit from home or an Android device, the following is required:

  • Email Address to register and schedule visits
  • Valid Photo ID for registration and at check-in
  • A computer or mobile device with internet connectivity, camera, and speakers
    • Headphones are highly recommended

There is a fee for off-site inmate/detainee visitation service:

  • 10-Minute Visit: $4.00
  • 25-Minute Visit: $10.00

Termination and Suspension of Visits

Any inappropriate behavior may result in the suspension or revocation of visiting privileges by the visitor(s) and/or inmate/detainee. The facility can prevent or terminate any visit that appears to be disruptive or a threat to facility safety and security or violates any of the following guidelines:

  • Any disruptive behavior on the part of the inmate/detainee or the visitor
  • Any obvious visible violation of the established visitation dress code
  • Any display of nudity
  • Any behavior or actions that are of a sexual nature
  • Any use or display of weapons (e.g., guns, knives, ammunition) as well as drugs/alcohol or related paraphernalia
  • Any activity or display of graphics/paraphernalia associated with any gang or security threat group
  • Unlawful activity or depiction of unlawful activity

Dress Code

Any person that wishes to visit with an inmate/detainee housed at the Kenosha Pre-Trial Facility or Kenosha County Detention Center must comply with the following guidelines. These guidelines will also be posted at the public visitation entrance.

Female Visitors Age 12 and Older

  • Shorts shall cover customarily covered areas of the anatomy, including the buttocks and crotch area, both when standing and sitting. Shorts no higher than mid-thigh comply. Short-shorts, jogging shorts, cut-offs, and other obviously inappropriate short garments are prohibited.
  • Skirts and dresses shall extend to mid-thigh, seated.
  • Slits in skirts and dresses shall rise no higher than mid-thigh, seated.
  • Sheer (see-through) clothing is prohibited.
  • The top of the clothing shall be no lower than the underarm in the front and back. Bare midriffs and strapless tops, tube tops, and swimsuits are prohibited.
  • Shoes shall be worn at all times.
  • Gang "colors" and other gang displays are prohibited.

Male Visitors Age 12 and Older

  • Shorts shall cover customarily covered areas of the anatomy, including the buttocks and crotch area, both when standing and sitting. Shorts not higher than mid-thigh comply. Short-shorts, jogging shorts, cut-offs, and other obviously inappropriate short garments are prohibited.
  • Shirts shall be worn at all times. Muscle shirts, bare midriff shirts, and sleeveless shirts are prohibited.
  • Shoes shall be worn at all times.
  • Gang "colors" and other gang displays are prohibited.
