Picnic in the Park

Picnic in the Park is a free annual event hosted at Petrifying Springs Park in August.

The daylong festivities include live music, interactive kids’ activities, concessions for sale, and an evening fireworks show.

First held from the late-1980s to the early-1990s and revived last year, Picnic in the Park’s aim is to raise awareness of the county’s parks system, and to educate the public on the value of parks.

This year's Picnic in the Park event will be held on Saturday, August 21st at Petrifying Springs Park (555 Seventh St.). Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. continuing through the fireworks show at dusk.
