Kenosha County Detention Center (KCDC)

Direct Supervision

In November, 1998, the Kenosha County Detention Center began operation under the direction of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department. This facility serves secure housing needs of the detention system by employing a direct supervision method of secure detention for sentenced misdemeanants, including Huber work release inmates.

Life skills and other practical programming for this inmate population are provided as an alternative to unproductive time in custody. With the "build out" capacity of nearly 1,200 inmates, the KCDC, when combined with the county jail operation, will allow Kenosha County to realize the potential for a 1,500-bed capacity that will meet detention needs well into the future.
