[ARCHIVED] UPDATED: Woman believed to be struck by lightning at Country Thunder

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident where a Country Thunder attendee appears to have been struck by lightning. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.

On 07-20-18 at approximately 12:36 a.m., the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department responded to the campground on a report of an individual who was believed to have been struck by lightning.

The subject is a white female with an approximate age of 18-22. She is described as having a small build and brown hair. She was wearing a dark T-shirt, dark jean shorts, and brown cowboy boots. The female was unconscious and had no identification on her.

The woman was seriously injured and was transported to Northern Illinois Medical Center for treatment.

At the time of this release no missing person report matching the female has been reported. If anyone has any information please contact the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

UPDATE:

The victim has been identified as a 22-year-old Brittney N. Prehn. She is a resident from Illinois.
