A road embankment stabilization project will cause a long-term closure on Kenosha County Trunk Highway W (Fox River Road) in the Village of Salem Lakes.

The closure – in the 8900 block of Highway W, just north of Highway F – is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 4. Project completion is expected in late October, weather permitting.

The Kenosha County Division of Highways has retained Veit & Company to execute the project, which consists of removing the existing concrete barriers, replacing the existing guardrail, installing a steel sheet pile wall, and repairing the adjacent gravel shoulder.

The road will be closed to through traffic during the entire duration of the project. Drivers are urged to detour around the closure via highways FR (312th Avenue) and F (93rd Street).

Questions or concerns about the project may be directed to Douglas Coeur at 262-653-1870 or douglas.coeur@kenoshacounty.org.
