The Wisconsin Department of Health Services this week announced that food safety officials found E. coli 0157 bacteria in an unopened bag of pre-washed, chopped romaine lettuce collected from an ill person's home.
As an investigation into a multistate outbreak of E. coli 0157 continues, DHS advises consumers not to consume any products containing romaine lettuce from Salinas Valley, Calif., regardless of brand.
