[ARCHIVED] County Board Chairman's statement on adoption of 2023 bonding measures

county board chambers

Kenosha County Board Chairman Gabe Nudo this evening issued the following statement following the County Board’s unanimous vote to approve agreed-upon budget modifications and bonding authority for 2023:

“I thank all our County Board supervisors for the attention that they gave to resolving these issues, so that we can move into 2023 with an outstanding budget in place and with bonding authority to fund the important capital projects that lie ahead.

“I would note that the board’s unanimous approval of these bonding resolutions marks the first time the board has approved bonding without opposition since 2013, for the 2014 budget.

“There were disagreements along the way after the board failed to approve the bond resolutions last month, but I am proud of the consensus that we were able to reach before the end of the year. Thanks, in particular, to Supervisor Monica Yuhas for her willingness to come to the table and negotiate a workable compromise, and to all of the supervisors who came together to support it.

“I look forward to a productive 2023 for your Kenosha County Board.”
