[ARCHIVED] Kenosha County Child Support Program receives County of the Year award

Kenosha County and Brown County Child Support Programs received the “County of the Year Award” from the Wisconsin Child Support Enforcement Association at the annual Child Support Fall Conference October 1st, 2014.

“I’m extremely proud of the work done by our Child Support Agency,” Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser said. “This honor is a testament to the concern, care and innovation they demonstrate every day in pursuit of ways to better serve children and their families in our county.”

The two counties received this award for developing and implementing a new, innovative program, “Supporting Parents Supporting Kids.”

“Supporting Parents Supporting Kids” provides employment and peer support to non-custodial parents who are having trouble making their child support payments. These services will be provided to non-custodial parents with a current support order in either Kenosha or Brown County through 2016.

The Federal Office of Child Support funds this program as part of a National Child Support Non-custodial Parent Employment Demonstration Evaluation. The intent of the program is to improve child well-being and to help non-custodial parents become more emotionally and financially involved with their children.

To enroll in the new program, please contact Rachael Van Pelt, Supporting Parents Supporting Kids Case Coordinator, at (262)697-4572 or the Kenosha County Child Support Program at (262)697-4500.
