[ARCHIVED] Youth Ice Fishing Derby set for Saturday, Jan. 17th

Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser and Kenosha County Parks invite all youth age 16 and younger to participate in the 3rd Annual Youth Ice Fishing Derby at the KD Park on Saturday, January 17th, from 7 a.m. until Noon.

KD Park is located at 8530 352nd Avenue, Burlington, WI 53105.

Registration is $2 at the event. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in 7 different categories of eligible fish, and there will be many other door prizes. Fish will be scored by length. New this year is a special prize for biggest fish overall.

The event is BYOB: Bring Your Own Bait!

The event will be held “ice permitting,” so please call 262-857-1869 on Friday, Jan. 16 to check to make sure the event has not been cancelled.

The Pringle Nature Center will be demonstrating snowshoeing and have snowshoes for rent. Snow permitting, cross country ski trails will be groomed on the hiking trails. Concessions will be available.
