News Release:
On 08/17/2016 at 3:44 AM Deputies and the Village of Somers Fire Department responded to a barn fire at 7104 38th Street. On arrival first responders found a barn to be fully engulfed in flames.
The property owner advised the barn was filled with 5,000 bales of straw, farm equipment and recreational vehicles. Fire departments from Somers, Randall, Paris, Caledonia, Zion, Kansasville, Burlington, and the Racine Fire Bells are on scene at this time.
County Highway S/Washington Road is closed at this time between State Highway 31/Green Bay Road and County Highway EA/72nd Avenue. The road is expected to be closed until approximately 10:00 AM.
The cause of the fire at this time is unknown and an investigation is being conducted.
