Today the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department was able to conduct realistic Tactical Response Team training thanks to help from a community member. Next/Partners, Inc. has acquired properties along STH 142 east of I-94. Phil Jennings, the President of Next/Partners allowed the Sheriff’s Tactical Team to use one of the homes in that area to conduct training.
The training included door breaching and room clearing excercises. There was no live gun fire, but noise distraction devices were deployed during the training. Sheriff David Beth said, “Realistic training experiences are important to keep our peoples’ skills current. I am grateful for this opportunity for our tactical team.”
Phil Jennings said, “As part of our commitment to good corporate citizenship, Next/Partners reached out to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team and offered a duplex on our property as a training site. We understand the value of realistic training scenarios to maintain the proficiency of vital community law enforcement resources. Next/Partners recognized that the property involved would provide a realistic and safe training environment.”
“As we develop the southeast quadrant of STH 142 at I-94 we anticipate offering other aspects of our property to other public safety departments for similar training opportunities,” Jennings also said.
The Tactical Response Team is a multi-jurisdictional team made up of 24 members from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, Kenosha Police Department and the Pleasant Prairie Police Department. The team members are deputies and officers with other primary assignments who qualify for the additional duties the team requires. The tactical team trains at least twice a month at a variety of locations in order to be prepared for whatever the needs of the residents of Kenosha County may be.
