[ARCHIVED] Kenosha nurses present at national conference on addictions

Kenosha County nurses at national conference

Kenosha County Public Health Nurses Amanda Tuura and Gianna Ventura presented at the International Nurses Society on Addictions Annual Conference, held Oct. 18-21 in Orlando, Fla.

The presentation's focus was on the county-funded Medication Assisted Treatment Program. This program takes a two-step approach including behavioral health counseling from Professional Services Group and the use of injectable Naltrexone, administered by the Kenosha County Division of Health.

Injectable Naltrexone, known as Vivitrol, is a medication that helps in the reduction of cravings for alcohol- and opioid-dependent clients.

For more information about the program, please contact the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Resource Center at 262-657-7188.
