Kenosha County Public Health Nurses Amanda Tuura and Gianna Ventura presented at the International Nurses Society on Addictions Annual Conference, held Oct. 18-21 in Orlando, Fla.
The presentation's focus was on the county-funded Medication Assisted Treatment Program. This program takes a two-step approach including behavioral health counseling from Professional Services Group and the use of injectable Naltrexone, administered by the Kenosha County Division of Health.
Injectable Naltrexone, known as Vivitrol, is a medication that helps in the reduction of cravings for alcohol- and opioid-dependent clients.
