[ARCHIVED] Dementia Training for Direct Care Workers

Are you a CNA, personal care worker or home health aide who provides care in Kenosha County to persons with dementia? Then attend this free 4-hour interactive dementia training for Kenosha County direct care workers. Participants will receive an overview of dementia, successful communication techniques in challenging situations and environmental safety. Among the topics to be covered are: • Types of dementia, symptoms and risks • Behaviors associated with dementia • Communication tips and de-escalation techniques • Physical and emotional safety techniques • Enhanced communication techniques Participants will receive handout materials and have a chance to apply information learned to short story scenarios. Upon successful completion and assessment participants will receive a certification of completion and a $50 gift card. Limited seating, RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED
