From June 21 to July 5, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has been working diligently on the investigation of numerous reports of vehicle entries throughout Kenosha County. There were approximately 35 reports of unlocked vehicles being entered with items removed. The locations of these reports were primarily in the Salem Lakes area.
The investigation has resulted in the clearance of 29 individual cases, and the arrest of four individuals. A search warrant was conducted on July 5 at 5016-17th Ave. (upper), which resulted in the recovery of some stolen property as well as evidence linking the suspects to the crimes.
The suspects and charges in relation to the investigation are:
- Gary Lee Brown (46 yoa) – 8 counts (felony) Misappropriation of Personal Identifying Materials, 29 counts (misdemeanor) Theft
- Nicholas D. Babcock (47 yoa) – 9 counts (misdemeanor) Theft, 1 count (misdemeanor) Receiving Stolen Property, 1 count (misdemeanor) Bailjumping
- Daniel D. Celkis (33 yoa) – 29 counts (misdemeanor) Theft
- Abigail K. Lipka-Bares (27 yoa) – 2 counts (misdemeanor) Receiving Stolen Property
