At 2:57 a.m. on January 12, 2019, Kenosha Sheriff’s Deputies responded with Somers Fire and Rescue to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on CTH H (88th Ave.) about a quarter mile north of CTH S (38th Street). Upon arrival Deputies located a pedestrian in the east ditch with extremely severe injuries. Somers Rescue personnel arrived and determined the pedestrian was deceased. The lone vehicle involved was a Chrysler 200 two-door, and was occupied by two women.
Evidence at the scene indicates that the pedestrian was walking north in the northbound lane of CTH H and was struck by the northbound Chrysler. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing, and there are no street lights in this area of the highway.
The driver of the car, a 31-year-old woman from Kenosha, and her passenger also from Kenosha, are cooperating with the investigation. The women were uninjured.
The deceased is a 51-year-old man from Union Grove.
The identities of the involved are being withheld pending notification of the family.
January 14, 2019, UPDATE:
The victim in this incident is identified as JEFFREY D. ETLICHER 51 years old, a resident of Union Grove. The driver of the car is identified as SAMANTHA M. MARABITO 31 years old and a resident of Kenosha.
The investigation is still ongoing, but as of this time, no charges have been requested.
