[ARCHIVED] Youth Ice Fishing Derby set for Saturday

Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser and Kenosha County Parks invite all youth age 16 or younger to participate in the 1st Annual Youth Ice Fishing Derby at the KD Park on Saturday, February 16, from 7 a.m. until Noon.

KD Park is located at 8530 352nd Avenue, Burlington, WI 53105.

For youth ages 16 and under, registration is $2 at the event. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in 7 different categories of eligible fish, and there will be many other door prizes. Fish will be scored by length. There will also be a special prize for the smallest fish caught.

Cabela’s “Ask the Expert” Andy Johnson will be on hand to talk fishing and show off the latest in fishing equipment. The Pringle Nature Center will be demonstrating snowshoeing and have snowshoes for rent. Snow permitting, cross country ski trails will be groomed on the hiking trails. Concessions by Wheatland Boy Scout Troop 381.
