Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser’s annual DairyAir Bike Ride to the Kenosha County Dairy Breakfast returns this Saturday, June 15.

The organized ride will begin at 7 a.m. at Bristol Woods Park, 9800 160th Ave., Bristol, continuing to the Dairy Breakfast at the MGD Mighty Grand Dairy Farm, 22811 18th St., Brighton. The ride is 13.6 miles each way.

This is the eighth year that the county has sponsored the organized ride to the dairy breakfast. This year, it will also serve as the conclusion of 14 days of Kenosha County Bike-to-Work Weeks festivities.

“The DairyAir ride is a great way to work off your breakfast before you’ve even eaten it,” Kreuser said. “On top of that, you get an up-close view of some of Kenosha County’s scenic backroads. It’s a perfect, fun way to cap off Bike-to-Work Weeks.”

The ride is moderately difficult with some hills. People are asked to use their best judgment and participate based on their own skill level. A Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department squad will follow the back of the pack to help ensure riders’ safety.

There will also be special bike parking and a tented rest area for riders at the Dairy Breakfast.

Because of wet, muddy conditions, no vehicles will be allowed to be parked on the farm this year. Dairy breakfast guests are asked to use one of the complimentary shuttles from remote parking areas at Central High School, 24617 75th St., Paddock Lake, and the Kenosha County Center at highways 45 and 50 in Bristol. Three shuttles will run continuously from both locations from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Those who wish to ride only one way in the DairyAir are asked to contact the Kenosha County Dairy Promotion at 262-515-5254 or kenoshacountydairypromo@gmail.com for more information about how to arrange for a pick-up at the breakfast.

There is no cost to participate in the DairyAir ride or to tour the farm. Dairy Breakfast tickets are $6 for adults; children under 6 are free. For more information about the Dairy Breakfast, use the contact information noted above.
