Sheriff David Beth is pleased to announce the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has donated $2481 to No-Shave November 2019.

No-Shave November is a web-based, non-profit organization devoted to growing cancer awareness and raising funds to support cancer prevention, research, and education. Sheriff Beth wanted to make the community aware if you see a deputy with facial hair or looking a little scruffy, remember, it’s for charity.

For the month of November, our staff will be able to grow a beard and still come to work every day for this great cause. They will be returning to our normal grooming policies on December 1, 2019. These grooming standards are typically regulated by department policy but were relaxed in support of the program.

No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness. To participate, employees who donated a minimum of $30 to the fund are allowed to grow facial hair during the month of November. Seventy-six members of the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department donated to participate in this inaugural event.

Female employees and employees who did not want to grow a beard were allowed to participate in Casual November to show support. These nine employees raised $540 that will be donated to the Wilson Elementary School Gift Drive Project. The Wilson Elementary School Gift Drive Project volunteers from the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department provide gifts to children that may not receive a gift this Christmas season.
