Silver Lake Park Beach to open with new concession stand

Kenosha County’s Silver Lake Park Beach will begin its 2023 season this coming weekend with a new concession vendor in place, County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced today.

Flip Flops Concession Stand was the business selected in a request for proposals for vendors that Kenosha County Parks issued earlier this year.

Operated by the owners of the Village Pub of Silver Lake, the concession stand will offer hamburgers, brats and hotdogs, ice cream bars and other snacks, as well as canned and draft beer, hard seltzers and mimosas. The stand will also offer other beach concessions, including charcoal, grilling tools, lighters and sunscreen.

Under an agreement with the business, the county will receive a share of the revenue generated at the concession stand.

“We’re excited to add this amenity to Silver Lake Park Beach,” Kerkman said. “Similar to our public-private partnerships in other parks, this will be an added attraction for visitors, and it will help to generate revenue for future park improvements.”

Flip Flops owner Nancy Dulek said she is pleased to bring the business to the park.

“We’ll be there to offer everything you might want — or might have forgotten to bring — for a day at the beach,” Dulek said. “Silver Lake Beach is a major attraction in our area, and we’re very happy to be a part of it.”

Also new at the beach this year is the return of lifeguards for the first time since the 2019 season. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are also available.

Beach visitors are required to pay a park entry fee. Daily fees are $10 per vehicle for Kenosha County residents, $20 per vehicle for nonresidents, and $5 per person for those arriving by bicycle or on foot. Annual vehicle passes are $30 for Kenosha County residents/property owners and $60 for nonresidents.

Silver Lake Park is located at 27000 85th St. (Highway F) in the Village of Salem Lakes.
