[ARCHIVED] EVENT:Medical Response LOCATION:Detentions

Yesterday, 03-10-15 the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department received information that a subject being held in the Kenosha County Jail, on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer had tested positive for Tuberculosis. Immediate steps were taken to follow the established departmental policies and procedures. These policies are in accordance with CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines in regards to the prevention and control of Tuberculosis.

The subject being detained is currently in a medical isolation room within the jail. The Sheriff’s Department is working in conjunction with the Kenosha County Division of Health to facilitate the testing procedures to ensure the safety of all Department personnel and people held in custody.

It has been a long standing protocol to annually test all Sheriff’s Department Detentions Division employees for Tuberculosis. This year’s testing was already partially complete. The Sheriff’s Department will work with Division of Health officials to test and then retest every involved employee, volunteer and detained person.

There is no threat to the general public.
