[ARCHIVED] Construction Accident

On 03-16-15, at approximately 1210 hours, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a construction accident medical call. The incident involved a man who had fallen into a deep trench in the 1300 block of CTH EA/ 72nd Avenue in the Town of Somers, Kenosha County, WI. Fire and Rescue units from Somers, Pleasant Prairie, Salem and Bristol, responded as well.

At the time incident, Reesman’s Excavating and Grading Company of Burlington, WI was trenching a new sewer line along CTH EA/ 72nd Avenue. One of the workers for the excavating company lost his footing and fell into the trench. He fell approximately 15 to 20 feet. The man was injured as a result of the fall. There was no collapse of earth onto the individual and he was not trapped. The injuries appeared to be non-life threatening. Somers Rescue transported the man a short distance to the parking lot of the nearby Somers Grade School where Flight For Life later transported him to Froedtert Hospital to be treated. The twenty-nine year old man is a resident of Mt. Pleasant, WI.
