[ARCHIVED] Event to honor Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention workers

Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser invites the public to an event to recognize those who work to prevent child abuse and neglect.

The event will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14 in the Commons Area of the Kenosha County Human Services Building, 8600 Sheridan Road, Kenosha.

Kreuser will present a plaque to the first recipient of the Connie Reyes Award for Excellence in Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention. The award was created to honor Reyes, a Kenosha County employee who worked with the Division of Children and Family Services. Reyes was murdered on April 12, 1990 as a result of her work serving the children and families of Kenosha County.

“We should never forget Connie’s life, which was dedicated to helping children and their families, and the fact that she was driven, first and foremost, by what was best for children in our county,” Kreuser said. “We want to thank all of the dedicated individuals and organizations that do this important work every day to make families and our community stronger.”

For more information about the event, contact the County Executive’s Office, 262-653-2600.
