County Executive Jim Kreuser is proud to announce a county golf course is listed among the finest in the state.
The White Birch Course at Brighton Dale Links was ranked Number 8 among the Top 20 Courses in Wisconsin, according to Golf Advisor, a national source of golf course ratings and reviews, which recently released its list.
“We’re very proud that the White Birch Course, a public course, is ranked so high among some very elite golf courses in the state,” Kreuser said.
There are about 609 golf courses in the state and Golf Advisor uses a rating system to rank each of them. Golfers are able to rate certain categories based on their experience at the golf course.
Here is a list of how the White Birch course at Brighton Dale Links was rated on a scale of 1-5 stars, with 5 being the highest, by Golf Advisor in 2015: Overall Condition 4.8; Value 4.7; Pace of Play 4.3; Staff Friendliness 4.6; and Course Conditions 4.8. The average rating for White Birch was 4.6 stars. The White Birch at Brighton Dale Links was also recommended 100% of the time, which means anyone who took the survey would recommend the White Birch course to another golfer, according to Golf Advisor.
Kenosha County Golf is planning renovations for the Blue Spruce Course this 2016 season. Staff are currently working on restoring the irrigation system that will be completed sometime in early June. This is the same type of project that was done to the White Birch Course in 2012.
Daniel Drier, County Golf General manager said, “We are making improvements to our golf facilities in hopes of having all of our courses on top of this list one day.”
