[ARCHIVED] Resurfacing of CTH EZ

The Kenosha County Department of Public Works announces a scheduled pavement preservation project on County Trunk Highway “EZ” (39th Avenue) between State Trunk Highway 165 and State Line Road in the Village of Pleasant Prairie. The project involves resurfacing the existing travel lanes and paved shoulders with a new 2-inch thick asphalt surface. New gravel shoulders and pavement marking will also be part of the project.

The project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday August 23, 2016 and be completed by September 2, 2016. CTH “EZ” will remain open to traffic for the duration of the project. However, there will be segments of the roadway that will be limited to one lane of traffic during working hours of approximately 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Flagging operations will be in place to guide traffic. Motorists may experience significant delays as a result of the lane closures.

Motorists are asked to use caution while driving in the vicinity of highway workers. Motorists are reminded that State Law prohibits the use of cellular or other wireless telephones in areas where persons are engaged in highway maintenance or construction. Voice-operated or hands-free devices are exempt from the law.
