[ARCHIVED] Kenosha County Veterans Services and Veterans Council to host inaugural Veterans Celebration

Kenosha County Veterans Services and Kenosha County Veterans Council invite veterans, active duty military members and their families to the inaugural “Veterans Celebration” on November 5, 2016 at the Kenosha County Job Center located at 8600 Sheridan Road, Kenosha.

The celebration is being held to honor our United States military men and women who are actively serving and those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces to include honoring the sacrifices made by their families. A free breakfast and lunch are included in this special event.

Veterans Day 2016 is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans Day 2016 should not be mistaken with Memorial Day: Veterans' Day celebrates the service of all United States military veterans, while Memorial Day honors those who died while in military service.

Event highlights include:

  • Free breakfast, starting at 9 a.m.
  • Opening Ceremony at 10 a.m.
  • Free lunch at Noon
  • Available all day will be no cost legal services, information about financial assistance, veterans’ benefits, and more.
  • A live broadcast of KENOSHA TODAY with Scott Barter on AM 1050-WLIP
  • Fun activities for the whole family, raffles and giveaways to include childcare
  • Exhibits by Historic Military Impressions – honoring the past by educating the future.

To RSVP, please contact Ali Nelson, email ali.nelson@kenoshacounty.org, or call 262-605-6690.
