[ARCHIVED] Red Cross representatives available at former Silver Lake Village Hall

Representatives of the American Red Cross will be at the former Silver Lake Village Hall throughout the day today (Saturday, July 15) to meet with area residents affected by this week’s flooding.

Caseworkers will be there from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Village Hall is located at 113 S. First St., in the Village of Salem Lakes.

Among other things, the Red Cross is dispensing cleaning kits to people with flooded homes.  These kits are five-gallon buckets filled with supplies needed to clean a home damaged by water, including bleach, sponges, squeegees and scrub brushes, as well as latex gloves, work gloves and dust masks. The kits will be available at local town and village halls, the Kenosha County Job Center and the Kenosha County Center.

For more information about available assistance and safety precaution tips for those affected by the floods, please visit http://www.kenoshacounty.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=713.

People with flood damage are reminded to report it to the Kenosha County Flood Hotline at 262-605-7924, or via email to disaster@kenoshacounty.org. This will assist the county in efforts to obtain state and federal disaster aid.
