[ARCHIVED] Kenosha County to offer Narcan training twice monthly

Narcan

Beginning in January, the Kenosha County Division of Health will offer Narcan (naloxone) Nasal Spray training the first Monday and third Thursday of each month at the Kenosha County Job Center, 8600 Sheridan Road.

Training is free, and a free Narcan nasal spray kit is included. Any Kenosha County resident may participate.

Naloxone – known by the brand name Narcan – is an emergency medication used to reverse overdoses caused by opioids such as heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone and fentanyl. The Kenosha County Division of Health received a $225,000 Prescription Drug Opioid Overdose Prevention grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to distribute Narcan to law enforcement and others who may find themselves in the position to save people from overdose.

To sign up for training, please call 262-605-6741 or send an email to narcan@kenoshacounty.org.
