[ARCHIVED] UPDATED: Driver in Somers crash pronounced dead at scene

On 05-23-18 at approximately 7:38 a.m. the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department along with the Village of Somers Fire and Rescue has responded to a serious single vehicle crash. The location is just east of 100th Avenue and Highway E (12th Street)

Preliminary investigation revealed that the involved vehicle was traveling east on Highway E when the operator appeared to have lost control and the vehicle struck a tree. The Operator and one passenger have suffered serious injuries and Flight For Life responded. The scene is still under investigation at this time.

UPDATE: Investigation has determined this to now be a fatal traffic crash. The eastbound traveling 2003 Ford SUV being operated by 18-year-old male lost control and struck a tree on the north side of Highway E (12th Street). The operator was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger was a 16-year-old male who suffered serious injury and was transported via Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

Investigators are still on scene.
