Kenosha County’s Brookside Care Center is now accepting referrals for memory care, as well as all other long-term care applications, Administrator Lynda Bogdala announced today.

Earlier this fall, increased staffing and other structural changes allowed Brookside to open additional beds for long-term care, including memory care, Bogdala said.

“We are now accepting all referrals,” Bogdala said. “If we are unable to admit applicants immediately, they can be put on a waiting list for when a bed is available.”

All applications are screened to determine whether the level of care needed corresponds with what Brookside offers, Bogdala added.

In addition to long-term and memory care, Bogdala said Brookside is also able to offer respite care for individuals who required a skilled level of care for a short period. A screening process is also required for this.

Bogdala encourages those interested in Brookside to call 262-653-3800 to schedule a tour.

Located at 3506 Washington Road in Kenosha, Brookside is a 154-bed facility that offers long-term skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation care. In recent years, national publications have honored it as being among the best nursing homes in Wisconsin.

In late August, Brookside received a deficiency-free review from the state agency that regulates nursing homes. This review of health and life safety compliance covered a 15-month period that began in April 2022.

This accomplishment is a further endorsement of Brookside’s status as the nursing home of choice for families in Kenosha County, said Robert W. Pitts, chairman of the Brookside Board of Trustees.

“There is truly a difference in the high-quality level of care that Brookside is able to provide to its long-term and short-term residents,” Pitts said. “With rooms now available, I encourage families to come out and see the outstanding facility and the compassionate staff that make Brookside what it is.”
