Sheriff David Beth announces increased police presence and security of the Kenosha County Courthouse campus as the criminal trial of Kyle Rittenhouse begins on Monday, November 1, 2021.  Our responsibility to public safety is of utmost importance.  These measures are meant to ensure the safety of the public that has legal business in and around the courthouse campus as well as Civic Center employees while maintaining the integrity of the trial.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department recognizes and respects the right of media to cover this case, therefore we will have a designated media staging area on the west side of the Courthouse along 10th Avenue.  This section of 10th Avenue will be closed to the public to allow parking of media vehicles.  The entrance to this media parking area will be at 56th Street at 10th Avenue.  Only official media vehicles will be allowed to park in this area while the trial is taking place.
