[ARCHIVED] Sheriff's Department, other agencies undergo search for person in New Munster Wildlife Area

On May 27, 2019, at 11:36 a.m., the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a subject yelling for help coming from the New Munster Wildlife Area located in the 8500 block of CTH KD (352nd Avenue). The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department along with the assistance of numerous other agencies were actively searching the 1,226-acre area currently for this subject.

This search utilized resources including K9 search teams, a drone team (unmanned aerial vehicle), All Terrain Vehicles, and personnel on foot. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department along with the Village of Twin Lakes Police Department, Town of Wheatland Fire Department, Village of Twin Lakes Fire and Rescue, Town of Randall Fire Department, Village of Salem Lakes Fire and Rescue, Town of Paris Fire and Rescue, and the Newport Township Fire Department participated searching the New Munster Wildlife area for this subject.

As of 3:46 p.m. the search of the area has been called off and no subjects in need of help were located in the wildlife area. The public is encouraged to report anything suspicious to their local law enforcement.
