Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman released the following statement on the shared revenue bill that Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers signed into law today:
“It was my privilege to be in Wausau today for Gov. Evers’ signing of this historic shared revenue legislation. I commend the governor and the Legislature for working across the aisle to deliver this much-needed assistance to counties and municipalities across Wisconsin.
“According to our latest calculations, Kenosha County alone stands to receive roughly $1 million in additional revenue as a result of this effort. I look forward to working with our county team on how to most effectively roll this into our 2024 budget, with an eye toward using these funds directly or indirectly to enhance public safety — a need that continues to grow in our community.”
