A full closure of Kenosha County Highway K (60th Street) at the Canadian Pacific railroad crossing east of Highway H (88th Avenue) is tentatively scheduled to begin Friday, June 16.
This is to allow for Canadian Pacific to replace the tracks, signals and gate equipment, and for completion of the multiuse path and curb and gutter in that area — the final stages of the Highway K expansion project that was largely completed late last year.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-summer, although the schedule is subject to weather conditions and Canadian Pacific's construction timeline.
A posted detour will route drivers around the closure via Highway H, Highway 158 (52nd Street) and Highway 31 (Green Bay Road). Local access on Highway K will be maintained between Highway H and 82nd Avenue, and between Green Bay Road and 77th Avenue.
A project update including a map of the work zone and detour route is available here.
